4. Footprints in the Garden

Destiny is in 9th grade. Art 1 Foundations with Laura Graham is the first art class she has taken at Christiansburg High School. Destiny was inspired by taking walks with her dog and wanted to create a sculpture reflecting the things she enjoys most about gardens.

She created four large stepping stones in the shape of bare feet, arranged in an alternating pattern. The concrete stones are set alongside a path and are decorated using paint with images of flowers. Visitors are encouraged to participate with the sculpture and may walk on the stones.
